Our partners, Ignacio Triguero and Eduardo Oliver, along with our associates Juan Prieto, Álvaro García-Barrosa, Ángel Chavarría, María Chicote, Guillermo Zulategui, Álvaro Martínez, and José María Michavila, delivered various Master Classes in the MBA in Sports Management at Alfonso X El Sabio University, Rafa Nadal University School, between November 29 and December 13, 2025.

On the first day, lessons focused on sports law and its various specialties. Students were able to deepen their knowledge of sports federations and major international sports organizations, competitive and disciplinary sports legislation, and dispute resolution mechanisms at both national and international levels (FIFA/CAS). The current situation regarding FIFA agents was also explained, and several practical cases were presented as examples to enhance students’ understanding.

On the second day, the focus was on corporate and commercial law in the sports sector, with detailed explanations on the functioning and regulations of Sports Public Limited Companies and key considerations in the buying and selling of clubs. The session also covered legislation and regulations applicable to image rights and patents, as well as labor and contractual law relevant to professional athletes.

On the 7th, our associate María Chicote gave a class titled “Taxation in Sports”, providing an overview of the main taxes in Spain, the most relevant aspects of residency, and the most significant tax elements in athlete contracts. Meanwhile, Angel Chavarría led a session on how Compliance is applied in the context of sports clubs, a fundamental tool in the day-to-day operations of these organizations.
